5 Affirmations Every Black Man Needs To Hear

Ever since the capturing and enslavement of our people, the world has been out to destroy the black man. As the givers of life, the Queens, Mothers, Wives, Sisters, Aunties, Nieces, Daughters, and Cousins of black Kings, let's continue to uplift them.

The spoken word is a powerful force. Words can build a man up or tear him down. Black women here are 5 affirmations every black man needs to hear from you.

5 Affirmations Every Black Man Needs To Hear

#1 I am proud of you.

Acknowledge his accomplishments both great and small. Verbal praise motivates a man to want to do more, be more, and work harder for his family.

#2 I appreciate all that you do for us.

We may not see all the heavy lifting, irritating customers, or monotonous meetings, but we know our men work hard. Tell him how much you appreciate him. Go ahead, tell him.

#3 You are so sexy.
Those dimples, that smile, whatever it is that turns you on about your man, TELL HIM! Yes our men are masculine and confident. But they do enjoy feeling desired and wanted by their woman. Give him a passionate kiss on the lips. Then, in your most sultry Janet Jackson voice, tell him how sexy and fine he is!

#4 I respect you.
African American women, black women, women of color; our men feel defeated at times. It's damn near a war zone as soon as they walk out the door. You've loved him at his best, you've loved him at his worse. In most cases you are all he has. You helped him become the man he is today. He needs to know that even though he fails, falls, and fears, that you still respect him. Women need love, men need respect. PERIOD.

#5 I need you.

In the age of the independent woman, our men can feel as though they are disposable. They need to be needed. Don't forget to say out loud to your man, "baby, I need you." A little ego stroke ain't neva hurt nobody!
