5 Reasons Why College Sucks After 30
I'm a non-traditional student. I went back for my bachelor's degree at the tender age of 28. On December 9th, I graduated at 30. It's been a long road and a challenging journey. But I DID IT! Here are my 5 Reasons Why College After 30 Sucks.
5 Reasons Why College Sucks After 30
#1 You're the OG
The average age of college students is 21. At 30, I'm looked at as the mama bear on campus. My classmates come to me for advice all the time just because I have more "real life experience."

#2 You're too mature
The wild parties, Greek life and 18 and up clubs are old news. At 30, with a child, I have no interest in watching underage drinkers pass out after one Corona.
5 Reasons Why College Sucks After 30#3 You're way too focused
At 30 and up, I have tunnel vision. I am not here to socialize heavily, join fifty eleven clubs, or hang out at the union all night long. I immediately became that student. The one who always gets straight A's. The one everybody wants to work with in group projects, so that they won't have to do any work.

#4 You have real responsibilities
By 30, most of us are married with children. The look of disinterest and disgust on the faces of my young peers as I mentioned stories about my son, are engraved in my memory. If it's not beer pong or Apple related, they just don't care.

#5 You're disconnected
Most likely, after 30 you will commute. You come on campus for classes, meeting with your advisors, and tutoring if necessary. You probably don't know when the next home football game is, or when the homecoming game is.
Based on my recent college experience, these are my 5 reasons why college after 30 sucks. It doesn't really suck. Actually,I applaud you for going back to college after 30. Although your classmates will view you as ancient, you're making a life changing decision that will surely pay off in the long run.
