You will not be allowed to walk across the stage without a cap and gown. Order them well in advance to ensure proper fitting. Also, have it steamed either at home or at a professional cleaners to remove wrinkles.

If you aren't planning on attending rehearsal, shame on you. Do you really want to be the one person who has no idea where he or she is supposed to walk? Don't be that person. Rehearsal is short and sweet. Don't miss it.

Some colleges have a dress code for the clothes you wear under your gown. For women, I recommend a nice dark blue, gray or black dress, skirt or pair of slacks. For men, a nicely fitting pair of dark blue, grey or black slacks with a pressed button down shirt and tie. Shoes should be clean, dress shoes that are not too distracting.

Your senior year is extremely stressful. You've come a long way and deserve to treat yourself. Get a massage. Get a mani-pedi. Please make an appointment with a hair stylist or barber. Your hair must be well groomed because you won't have the cap on for the entire day. Ladies, don't forget to care for your eyebrows, lashes and makeup. It's your special day, you deserve to be flawless!
